Hotel ENGIADINA is a typical Engadin house from the time around 1720. The building is steeped in history and was formerly used not only as stables and barn but also housed a tavern, the oldest “Ustaria” of Scuol, which was a simple inn for the local village people.

When you stand outside the hotel you can discover the witnesses to its history on the facade: The year 1720 on the ancient bay windows and the “Sgraffito” paintings above the entrance. Still today in Scuol there are old postcards on sale from the time when the house was still a tavern and a farmhouse.

The Hotel ENGIADINA is managed in the second generation by the Giston family, since 2006 by daughter Ladina. She runs the hotel with a staff of four.

The beautiful guest rooms and suites – all in Swiss pine – have been furnished with loving care. 11 rooms and suites are in the main building, 5 suites are in the Dependenza building, only a few steps away. Whether under the roof beams or below impressive vaults – each room has its own character and is furnished entirely in the Romansh tradition. The charming modern rooms and the very special fragrance of the Swiss pine wood guarantee a relaxing holiday. You will feel completely at home – right from the start.

From summer 2018 the ENGIADINA will be managed as a hotel garni. We would nonetheless be happy to recommend a choice of restaurants in the area.

  Distance: 85 m, approx. 1 walking minute
  Restaurant with local specialities and classic international dishes.
• Restaurant in Hotel Gabriel
  Distance: 500 m, approx. 6 walking minutes
  Graubünden specialities and seasonal dishes are served in the so-called Arvenstube. Fresh salad and vegetables are mostly grown in the hotel's garden.

Leisure pool «Bogn Engiadina»
The «Bogn Engiadina» is located only three minutes from the hotel on foot. Discover the comfortable warmth and the healing effects of our mineral springs in the large exercise pool, in the hot whirlpool or in the saltwater pool. Enjoy the invigorating changes of warm and cold in the water grottos. From the outside pool you have a splendid view of the fascinating mountain world and the starry night skies.

Sauna
The extensive sauna amenities in the «Bogn Engiadina» have been renovated and reopened in August 2012. The range of facilities both inside and outside including infusion sauna, warmth bath sauna, fireplace sauna, steam bath etc. leaves no wishes unfulfilled.

The Roman-Irish Spa
Relax and enjoy a feeling of wellbeing in the Roman-Irish spa, where two European bathing cultures are united in a relaxing ritual including a massage (choose a brush massage, honey massage or yoghurt crème massage). The Roman-Irish wellness procedure lasts 2 ½ hours. It is essential to book in advance. Please ask at the reception.

Scuol is the perfect starting point for discovery tours and excursions in Unterengadin. Hiking, climbing, skiing, sleighing, golf, swimming; explore and prepare to be amazed... or simply enjoy nature. The nature paradise Unterengadin offers numerous different leisure and sport activities at all times of the year. You will return home with unforgettable impressions.

The Swiss National Park
The Swiss National Park is a natural Alpine environment between 1500 and 3174 m above sea level. With 172 km² the park is the largest nature conservation area of Switzerland and the only national park. It is a very popular destination for excursions for guests who wish to visit an oasis of original and unspoiled nature.

«Motta Naluns» cable cars
The ski and hiking region «Motta Naluns» is the starting point for hiking tours, short walks or wonderful days of skiing at the heart of the beautiful Unterengadin mountain world. The ski region has 80 kilometers of pistes with 13 cable cars and ski lifts. Descents are possible for beginners, for advanced skiers and for snowboarders. In summer and winter you can easily get to the valley station of the mountain cable cars with the local bus service. In the ski season the bus is free.

By rail
From Zürich take the SBB to Landquart, where you change to the “Rhätische Bahn”. You arrive at Scuol via Klosters and through the Vereina Tunnel to Unterengadin. The journey from Zürich to Scuol lasts about 2 3/4 hours.

By car
Take the A13 to Landquart and then drive to Klosters. In summer it is possibile to go to Davos and then via the Flüelapass (closed in winter) to Unterengadin and Scuol. Faster and easier, for example in winter, is travel by “Autoverlad” car transport through the Vereina Tunnel (Klosters Selfranga - Lavin Sagliains). If you book your rooms in good time we will be pleased to send you a reduced price ticket for the Vereina Autoverlad car transport by post.
